Traveling Light

Using Albany Airport’s window architecture, I created a site-specific installation in the ticketing hall that enhances viewers’ contemplation of the sky, and our relation to the sun. Through tinting the windows, the light becomes colored, inviting one to see the sky through a new lens, or having a color illuminate someone as it is cast from the windows above. The viewer becomes part of the piece as they see, and they are seen differently. The installation occurs in the colored spectrum on the clerestory windows and the blue colors of the sky in the windows above.
