In these “Entanglement” collages, small slits of paper are cut away and lifted up from its surface, revealing colors made from Pantone color swatches and newspapers. These works play with the implicit, and sometimes unexpected, relationship between things. Through their color references, connections are drawn between everyday events, political issues, and even outer space. Through cut-outs, reflections and shadows, the walls are implicit in the work. The geometries of the works are in constant flux in response to the light in the room, offering the viewer an element of surprise as they watch the collage change shape with the natural light. Creative analysis of latent forces—physics of light and color, the movement of the sun—allows prolonged perceptual engagement with something that unfolds slowly, in real time.
